Serial Number Tool

Automatically append consecutive numbers to every card line, with a start number and fixed-width padding — great for making numbered cards.

How to use

Steps

  1. Set the "Start number". The first line is numbered from this value.
  2. Enter the padding width in "Fixed width (optional; 0 means no padding)" — for example, 3 gives 001, 002.
  3. Paste your cards into "Original text", one per line.
  4. Click "Append numbers". The numbers are added to the end of each line.

FAQ

Q: Are the numbers added to the start or the end of a line?

A: They are appended to the end of each line.

Q: What happens if I set the fixed width to 0?

A: No padding — lines are numbered with the plain number (1, 2, 3...).

Q: Does it automatically grow the width once numbers exceed it?

A: Yes. Once the number exceeds the set width, it displays its actual length — for example, with width 3, the number 1000 shows as 1000.
